Dieses Gemälde reiht sich ein in die Serie "Wildtiere am Kaiserstuhl". Der Kaiserstuhl (meine Heimat) ist eine ganz besondere Region in Südwestdeutschland; hier leben viele Wildtiere die man andernorts kaum noch findet. Der naturalistisch gemalte Vogel ist ein Rotmilan. Der Rotmilan ist ein sehr häufig in Deutschland vorkommender Greifvogel. Mehr als die Hälfte der gesamten Weltpopulation brütet in Deutschland (mein Heimatland). Markante Merkmale des Rotmilans sind sein tief gegabelter Schwanz und seine rostfarbene Grundfarbe. Der Hintergrund des Bildes ist in der Pouring-Technik von mir zuerst gefertigt worden, musste ein paar Tage trocknen, um danach mit dem Motiv bemalt zu werden. Durch den dynamischen Hintergrund wird ein Kontrast zum ruhigen Vogel erzielt. Der Rotmilan ist das zentrale Motiv im Bildvordergrund. Detailreich gemalt, insbesondere das rotbraune Gefieder. Das Gemälde ist mit einem Schutzfirnis überzogen.
