Mona Schafitel

For Mona Schafitel, canvases are doors to emotional worlds. With spontaneous color choices and expressive strokes, she wants to create energetic spaces. Her works in many glazes give an idea of her many years of experience in trompe l'oeil and wall painting, and create images with magical transparency, color, light and depth. A deep connection to nature is also noticeable in her work. She expressed her commitment to a healthy environment, among other things, in an art festival she initiated and curated, "Artland," at which she and many other artists raised awareness of the issue of nature conservation in Augsburg's public space.
