Leo Windeln, born in 1962 in Heinsberg, began painting at the age of 16 and acquired his first skills at the Free Academy in Roermond, where he concentrated on realistic still lifes. For around 25 years he has been passionately devoted to landscape painting.

Windeln paints exclusively with high-quality oil paints on canvas stretchers and uses a technique that is a mixture of wet-on-wet and layered painting. Like the Impressionists, he avoids using black. His motifs come from his surroundings and from trips abroad and are characterized by their attention to detail and the ability to capture lighting moods.

Windeln has been a member of the Association of International Artists since 2015. His works are represented in international exhibitions such as Art Beijing, Art Fair Luxembourg and the Hong Art Museum in China. Collectors of his art can be found all over the world, from Hong Kong and Japan to Australia.

What our customers say.

What our customers say.

I only paint with very high-quality paints and on canvas stretchers. Like the 'Impressionists', I don't use black. My style is called naturalism or realism. I create my paintings in the studio. My motifs come from trips abroad and from my homeland. It is important to me to show how beautiful home can be, you just have to open your eyes. Painting has become a passion for me.

"For me, nature provides the best templates for art."
