Elisa Schaar

Elisa Schaar has been working in the style of abstract expressionism with acrylic on canvas since 1999, bringing with her in-depth knowledge of color psychology. In a dialogue with colors, shapes and structures, she develops the expression of transformed sensory and psychological energy. This process takes place in an intuitive interplay between inner dynamics and abstraction in the external representation. She uses spatulas, trowels, wipers and squeegees as tools. The works reflect vitality and strength, depth and intensity, often combined with a springy lightness, with poetry and magic in their abstraction. Her pictures express the tension between sensuality and multi-color on the one hand and concept and line on the other, without giving up any scope. The movement usually follows the same direction and thus illustrates the positive energy: dynamics, optimism, strength, vitality. After 30 years of working as an individual psychologist, Elisa Schaar has been devoting herself exclusively to painting as a professional painter in her studio in Barcelona since the beginning of 2014. Many of her paintings are in private collections in Germany, Spain, France, Luxembourg and the USA, as well as in numerous public institutions.
